Welcoming the New Year

Happy Super Delayed New Year! I can’t believe it’s already 2019. Writing about NYE was one of my first posts ever on the blog last year, so I figured I couldn’t let this year go by without a post.

Heading into the new year, I did a lot of reflecting on 2018. It was a pretty bittersweet year for me, but to highlight some of the positives:

  1. We bought, (partially) renovated & moved into our new home.

  2. We sold our townhouse (my first major investment).

  3. Went to Florida twice, including Francesco’s 1st trip to Walt Disney World.

  4. Frank and I had our first baby free vacation to California.

  5. Worked my first FULL year as a full time working mom.

  6. Blogged for the whole year.

  7. I added a Cartier love ring, love bracelet, & Chanel Camera Case to my collection.

I call last year our year of spending. For 2019, I have a lot to strive for, but above all, I’m hoping to call this our year of saving. My focus for the next year will be:

  1. Spending more time in our home, making memories & just being together as a family. Maybe learn to relax a little bit?

  2. Have more date nights.

  3. Save money for our kitchen renovation & to finish the basement in the next few years.

  4. Work smarter, not harder— I’m always striving to improve my balance between work & home life.

  5. Continue to decorate the house.

  6. Spend more time outside during the summer— playing with Francesco, going to the park, go on family walks & get back into running.

  7. Help Francesco step out of his comfort zone & prep him for preschool. Teach him new things like to talk, read, potty train, play with friends, etc.

  8. Travel when possible.

I’m sure the list will change throughout the year. After all, we can’t predict what life will throw at us! But hopefully this year I can focus more on family and less on the unimportant stuff.

Wishing everyone a happy, healthy & prosperous new year! I’d love to hear what your goals for the new year are, feel free to share below!
