A Shiny New Year!

Happy New Year! Just thought I would kick off the year with a post about my favorite holiday trend from 2017.... Sequins!!

I'm a total girly girl, so sparkles and shiny things are right up my alley. This particular look is actually from Christmas but is so perfect for NYE. I had purchased it with tonight in mind, but with the baby and 0 degree Chicago weather, we decided to stay local and be in our PJs for the countdown. But... I'm obsessed with these sequin leggings! They have been out of stock for weeks (I linked them below because you may be able to find them in store still). However, I was on a mission and lucky enough to find a pair in store last weekend!

I could style them a million different ways- crop top, a pretty cami, sweater, blazer, etc. They are so flattering, comfortable and just easy to dress up and feel fun! I chose to pair them with a lace turtleneck to make it slightly elegant, and added Louboutins and my red Gucci for a pop of color. My shoes are sold out in patent leather, but they still have them in suede. I'm not going to lie-- I never make impulsive purchases, but the shoes were a birthday splurge for me. They are so comfortable despite their height and look beautiful on! You could easily finish this look off with plain pumps or ankle strap heels too! And the Gucci soho disco bag... I don't think I have enough good things to say about it. I had been lusting after it for over a year and saving up for it. It's one of my absolute favorite purses I've ever purchased. It's that perfect pop to add to almost any outfit!

And since it's almost midnight, I figured I would share my New Year's resolution. It may sound so simple, but this is going to be a hard one for me! My goal is to get to bed earlier and wake up 1-2 hours earlier than I normally do. I'd really like to get back into working out in the mornings (or even just in general), so I'm hoping that the extra time to myself before the boys are up and the work day starts, I can accomplish more and be less stressed! When the baby was waking up at 5 am, I typically got a head start on my day when he would go back down for his nap. Since he's been sleeping 10+ hours a night (angel baby!) and sleeping in past 7:30 am, we definitely end up enjoying that a little too much by sleeping in and falling behind on our day! I hate being late so it  feels like I'm running around frantically... we shall see if I can change that!

Feel free to share your resolution below- I'd love to hear what everyone else is hoping to accomplish. And most importantly, I wish you a wonderful year ahead!
